Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Tuesday embarked on a visit to Turkey’s capital Ankara.

An official welcoming ceremony was held for the Azerbaijani president in Ankara.

Following the official welcoming ceremony, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a one-on-one meeting.

The fifth meeting of the Turkey-Azerbaijan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council is due to take place today.

The Azerbaijani president put forward an initiative to hold the fifth meeting of the Turkey-Azerbaijan High Level Strategic Cooperation Council in Ankara. Erdogan, in turn, expressed gratitude to his Azerbaijani counterpart for this noble gesture and solidarity in the fight against terrorism.
