France urges Azerbaijan, Armenia to abide by ceasefire

France welcomes the renewed ceasefire agreement in Nagorno-Karabakh, read a statement on the French Foreign Ministry’s website.

According to the statement, France urges both Azerbaijan and Armenia to abide by the ceasefire.

“For the peaceful settlement of the conflict in line with international law, it’s necessary to resume the talks under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. As stated Mr Jean-Marc Ayrault, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, neither the status quo nor use of military force can be the solution to the conflict,” said the statement.
