Trump congratulated Abadi for victory on ISIS

White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders that President Donald Trump congratulated the Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi after he declared victory over Islamic State (ISIS) in Mosul on Monday (July 10), three years after the militants seized the city.

“The victory in Mosul where ISIL proclaimed its once so-called caliphate signals that its days in Iraq and Syria are numbered. We will continue t seek the total destruction of ISIS,” Sanders said during a press conference on Monday.

Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Monday that the “terrorist state of falsehood and terrorism” had ended and was defeated, one day after he announced victory over Islamic State (ISIS) in Mosul.
