CE Secretary General congratulates President Ilham Aliyev

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Thorbjørn Jagland has sent a congratulatory letter to President Ilham Aliyev on his re-election as President of Azerbaijan.

"I congratulate you again on your re-election as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. I intend to work closely with you to ensure the supremacy of human rights, democracy and rule of law in Azerbaijan based on the European Convention on Human Rights," he said.
