Trump accepts resignation of UN ambassador Nikki Haley

US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has refused to comment on reports of her possible resignation.

Two sources with knowledge of the conversation between Trump and Haley told the online news portal Axios that the president had accepted Haley’s resignation, but the precise time of her departure is still unclear.

White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders stated that the meeting would be open to the press. The US president has also announced the event on Twitter.

According to the White House, the UN ambassador is set to meet US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office at 10:30 AM (14:30 GMT).
