Ambassador of Poland to Azerbaijan Marek Calka has visited Baku Slavic University (BSU) to meet its rector Asif Hajiyev.

Hajiyev highlighted the history, international relations, educational process of the university, as well as the activity of the Center of the Polish Language and Culture at the BSU.

Speaking about BSU`s cooperation with the universities of Poland, particularly the University of Warsaw, the rector expressed confidence that these ties would continue to strengthen with the support of the Ambassador.

Highlighting the ties between Poland and Azerbaijan, Marek Calka hailed educational cooperation between BSU and Polish universities.

Diplomat said that Poland has declared 2016 a Year of Henryk Sienkiewicz to celebrate one of nation's most beloved and world-renown writers.

The Center of the Polish Language and Culture at the BSU and the Polish Embassy decided to hold a series of events as part of the Henryk Sienkiewicz day.
