Several reported dead and injured after train derails in Turkey

Multiple deaths and injuries reported Sunday after a passenger train derailed in the northwestern Turkish province of Tekirdag.

Axar.az informs citing DS.

Five carriages of the train traveling from Uzunkopru, Edirne to Istanbul were toppled near Sarılar village of Tekirdag's Corlu district.

Tekirdag governor Mehmet Ceylan said injured people have been evacuated from the scene of the accident with helicopters.

Reasons for the derailment is unknown but several sources reported that the accident was caused by a collapsed bridge.
