Squirrel protects its home, attacks viper -

This video from California shows a little squirrel approaching a snake and then suddenly attacking it. The reasons behind this reckless assault are unclear – it’s possible that the scaled predator came too close to the brave animal's home, so it had to act, appearing to be more akin to a mongoose than an average squirrel.

After a few minutes of dramatic and dangerous clashes, the reptile had to retreat, as the squirrel pressed it too hard, even trying to bite the snake's tail. What irony indeed!
