Talks underway for EU's Tehran bureau inauguration

Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi said on Monday that expert-level talks are underway for opening the EU's bureau in Tehran.

Speaking in his weekly press briefing, Qassemi said during recent visit of the EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini to Tehran, various tripartite meetings were held with Russia's sponsorship to focus on Syria.
Talks with Mogherini mainly concerned issues of mutual interest, regional developments, mainly in Syria, opening of the EU bureau in Tehran, he said.

On Wednesday comprehensive talks are to be chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht-Ravanchi on various issues such as environment, drug trafficking, commercial trade and tariffs in Brussels.

'If the upcoming talks are on its right track, the next round of talks in Tehran will be held within six months,' he said.
