The speaker of Russia’s Federation Council, Valentina Matvienko, met today with the Turkish Prime Minister, Binali Yildirim.

"We have left behind the period that brought great grief to our countries. Our relations are being normalized quickly. It is very easy to damage relations, and it is very difficult to iron them out," said.

According to Yildirim, the parties "learned their lessons from this incident."
