UN to hold emergency meeting on Aleppo

The United Nations Security Council has announced an emergency meeting will take place to discuss the situation in east Aleppo, the AFP News Agency reported on Tuesday night.

Axar.az informs, the UNSC meeting will be held at 17:00 (GMT) time and will only focus on the situation in Aleppo.

France initially asked for the meeting after several Syrian opposition activists alleged that massacres were being perpetrated by government forces.Al-Masdar was told by a Syrian Army officer in east Aleppo that no such massacres have taken place, as their forces have not been permitted to enter the jihadist-held districts.
