Two police officers killed car blast

Remains of an unknown person believed to be a suicide bomber who blew himself up have been found at the scene of the car blast.

Axar.az reports that, two police officers were killed and two others were injured in a car explosion at a police post in southern Dagestan on Monday, the republic’s Interior Ministry has said.

The blast occurred at 9.05 a.m. local time (0600GMT) at a police post in the Derbentsky district when officers stopped a Priora car for checks. "As a result, two police officers were killed and two others were hospitalized with wounds," the ministry said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
