In past 24 hours, Afghan National Police conducted several anti-terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan.

The operations were conducted in Uruzgan, Zabul, Herat, Ghazni, Helmand, Logar, Kunduz, Sar-e-Pul, Badakhshan, Faryab, Paktiya, Khost and Baghlan provinces, as a result 57 armed Taliban members were killed, 35 wounded and two others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.

Also, during these operations, Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds ammunition.

During the same 24 hour period, Afghan National Police discovered and defused seven different types of IEDs placed by enemies of Afghanistan for destructive activities in Kabul, Nangarhar, Dai Kundi, Kandahar and Paktika provinces.

Afghan National Police are working diligently with local leaders and the public to prevent these types of acts from killing and wounding innocent civilians and security forces.
