Today, the Fourth of July reception was held at the U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan.
Axar.az reports citing Apa.
Speaking at the reception U.S. Ambassador Robert F. Cekuta noted that the United States celebrates 241 years of independence, and 25 years of diplomatic relations with Azerbaijan.
“It is also 99 year since, Azerbaijan became an independent state in 1918, the first Muslim republic to give women the right to vote. This is an important democratic step, which was achieved here even before women enjoyed the same right in the United States and an achievement of which Azerbaijan is rightfully proud,” said U.S. Ambassador Robert F. Cekuta.
