"We’re here today to commemorate the souls of those who became martyrs as a result of the treacherous terror committed a year ago. They gave their lives for their homeland,” Erkan Ozoral, the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan, said at an event at Baku’s Heydar Mosque dedicated to the first anniversary of the July 15 coup attempt.

Axar.az reports citing APA.

He said that on the day of the failed coup defeat on July 15, one of the first heads of state to telephone Erdogan was Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"After the tragic killing of little Zahra Armenian by Armenians, the President of Turkey extended his condolences to the head of Azerbaijan’s state on the phone. Once again I ask Allah to have mercy on those who gave their lives for their Motherland,” he said.
