Iraqi VP to meet with Putin, senior officials

Iraqi Vice President Nouri Maliki will pay a visit to Moscow on Sunday to hold meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and the country's senior officials.

Axar.az reports that within his four-day visit Maliki is expected to hold meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko alongside Putin.

The Iraqi vice president told that he would discuss, in particular, supplies of Russian weapons to the Iraqi armed forces.

Maliki is expected to lead a delegation of the republic's lawmakers.
