Terrorist group PKK kidnapped and killed a villager early Sunday in Turkey's southeastern Hakkari province, police sources said.

Axar.az reports citing AA.

Sami Ciftci was kidnapped from his home in Catalca village in Hakkari's Semdinli district, according to sources who cannot be named due to restrictions to speak to media.

PKK terrorists then took the man far away from his home in Guvenli area and shot him dead, sources said.

An investigation has been launched on the incident.

More than 1,200 people, including security force personnel and civilians, have lost their lives since the PKK -- listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S., and EU -- resumed its decades-old armed campaign in July 2015.

Meanwhile, another operation against the PKK in southeastern province Diyarbakir has been completed early Sunday, according to military sources.

Within the scope of the operation, 1.2 million tonnes of ammonium nitrate were seized and a shelter of PKK had been destroyed.

Also, five hand grenades, 205 kilos of marijuana and around 23,000 roots of cannabis have been seized as well.
