At least three students were killed and 10 others wounded, including two teachers, when a roof of a madrasa (religious seminary) collapsed in the northwestern Karak district of Pakistan on Sunday morning, officials said.

Axar.az reports citing AA.

The seminary roof collapsed following heavy rain overnight and the rain water seeped into the building foundation, Ali Badshah, a local police officer told Anadolu Agency.

“Rescue teams are still there and busy removing the debris. All the students who were under the debris were rescued and transfered to the hospital, where four of them are in critical condition,” Badshah added.

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) of Pakistan has indicated that so far 95 people have been killed and 131 others wounded across the country as a result of the current monsoon spell of rains this past month.

In a separate incident, at least 13 people including women and children, were killed and four others wounded when a passenger van collided with a truck and caught fire in the southeastern Punjab province on Sunday, Geo TV, a local broadcaster reported.
