France condemns any attacks targeting diplomatic personnel and headquarters, a French diplomatic source told Friday commenting on the recent attack on the Russian Embassy in the Syrian capital of Damascus.
Axar.az reports that on August 2, the Russian embassy compound in Damascus came under mortar fire from militants' positions leaving no casualties and causing a slight damage. Earlier on Friday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Moscow was outraged that the UN Security Council had not condemned the shelling of the Russian embassy.
"We condemn any attack against personnel and diplomatic headquarters, which are protected by the international law," the diplomatic source said answering the question regarding the shelling of the Russian embassy in Damascus on August 2.
The shelling was carried out from positions of the Jabhat Fatah al-Sham terrorist group and Al-Rahman Legion (Faylaq Al-Rahman) armed opposition group.
