It’s necessary to demonstrate a common position regarding the issue of liberating Azerbaijan’s occupied territories, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said.

He made the remarks at the 13th Islamic Summit Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Istanbul on Thursday.

Davutoglu also drew attention to the occupation of Palestinian lands, which he said is one of the urgent problems of the Muslim world.

“With regard to occupied lands of Azerbaijan —an issue that recently came up—and also Russia’s invasion of Crimea, we need to display a common position for those lands which have belonged to Muslims for centuries to regain their freedom,” he stressed.

The PM said he believes OIC countries will begin to play a more active part in settling the aforesaid problems.
