Putin preparing for Caspian Summit in Kazakhstan

Russian President Vladimir Putin is preparing for the "Caspian Five" meeting in Aktau, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The president’s preparations for his working visit to Aktau, Kazakhstan, on Sunday continue. It will be a meeting of the ‘Caspian Five,’" he said.

Speaking about the state leader’s current working schedule, the Kremlin spokesman reported that "today the president is working in Moscow: he has a scheduled business meeting, several internal meetings and a public meeting with the leader of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, Vyacheslav Bitarov." "We will offer you information as usual," Peskov promised.

The fifth Caspian Summit will be held in Aktau, Kazakhstan, on August 12. It will be attended by the state leaders of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Russia and Turkmenistan. The final document of the summit will be the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea. Its draft was coordinated at the meeting of the Caspian Sea states’ foreign ministers on December 4-5, 2017, in Moscow.
