A protest against the agreement on the creation of an Armenia-Russia united air defense system is taking place outside the building of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, according to the News.am website.

Several dozen people are taking part in this demonstration, which started on June 13 morning.

The activists are also holding respective signs.

Tigran Khzmalyan, who is also among the protesters, said that if this agreement is signed, Armenia will turn into a target.

"The signing of the agreement is a mistake, a betrayal," he said.

The NA will kick off a special session on June 13, during which the Armenia-Russia air defense agreement also will be debated on.

This document has brought forth a reaction among certain Armenian political and civic circles, who argue that with this agreement, Armenia is surrendering its airspace and security to Russia.
