Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said on Tuesday that he will pay an official visit to Azerbaijan in the coming months.

He made this statement at the 4th meeting in Rome of the Italy-Azerbaijan inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation, the Italian Foreign Ministry said.

Gentiloni said Italian-Azerbaijani relations have developed in recent years, recalling mutual visits, particularly the ones made by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Italy in 2014-2015.

He added that the Italian side seeks to increase the number of official visits to Azerbaijan.
