Clash kills 3 militants in northern Afghanistan

At least three militants were confirmed dead after Afghan government forces stormed a Taliban hideout in Hazarbagh area of northern Takhar province on Saturday, army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said Sunday.

According to the official, Units of Special Force raided a Taliban hideout in Hazarbagh locality late Saturday night, killing three armed insurgents on the spot.

No civilian had been hurt in the raid, the official said, without providing further details.

Taliban militants who are active in parts of Takhar province with Taluqan as its capital 245 km north of Kabul haven't commented.
