The Afghan war veterans, who are in Baku to attend events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan, have visited a military unit of the Ministry of Defence.

Axar.az reports citing Ministry of Defence.

They first laid flowers at the bust of Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev. The veterans toured the administrative buildings of the military unit. The veterans got acquainted with the new headquarters building, the soldiers' barracks, the medical post, the bath-and-laundry complex, and other facilities built on the territory of the military unit. In the headquarters building, they viewed photos reflecting contributions of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to the process of army building, as well as their meetings with soldiers and officers.

Hero of the Soviet Union, retired Colonel General Valery Vostrotin signed the military unit`s guest book.
