Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif within the 18th Summit of the Non-Aligned Movement in Baku.

The ministers exchanged views on the agenda of bilateral cooperation between the two countries based on common historical, religious, cultural ties and friendly neighborly relations.
The ministers said mutual respect and trust between the two presidents played a crucial role in the Azerbaijani-Iranian relations. In this regard, the Iranian minister thanked the Azerbaijani side for the hospitality and the high level of the Non-Aligned Movement Summit.
During the conversation, it was noted that the successful development of regional cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats opens wide prospects. In this regard, it was underlined that the region has created great transport corridors, including railways, with the initiative and with the initiative of Azerbaijan.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif wrote his heartfelt words in the book of commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the diplomatic service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.
