Chairman of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Mustafa Shentop, who is on a visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Alley of Honors on October 19 to commemorate national leader, architect and founder of our modern independent state Heydar Aliyev and lay a wreath at his grave.

Axar.az reports that the memory of prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva was also commemorated, and flowers were laid at her grave.

Mustafa Shentop also visited the graves of prominent statesman Aziz Aliyev and well-known doctor-scientist Tamerlan Aliyev.

Then the guest visited the Alley of Martyrs, laid a wreath at the Eternal Torch monument in memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland who gave their lives in the struggle for freedom and territorial integrity of our country.

Mustafa Shentop, who watched the view of the Azerbaijani capital from the highest point of Baku, was informed about the history of the Alley of Martyrs and the landscaping work carried out in our capital.

The Speaker of the Turkish Parliament also laid a wreath at the monument to the heroic Turkish soldiers in the Alley of Martyrs.

Mustafa Shentop laid flowers on the martyr's inscription and wrote his heartfelt words in the book.
