The territorial integrity of Syria is a priority for Turkey, said Fahrettin Altun, Director of Communications at Turkish Presidential administration.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

According to him, Turkey will make every effort for assuring Syria’s territorial integrity, and all steps taken by the country in relation to Syria are done so based on this principle.

Altun stated earlier that Turkey will not turn a blind eye to the presence of terrorist groups next to its borders.

On December 12, 2018, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that in several days the Turkish Armed Forces are going to begin a new operation in northern Syria against PYD/YPG.

Erdogan also pointed out the presence of American soldiers among the ranks of terrorists in Syria.
