Iraqi MP calls for exemption of Iranian firms from US sanctions

In an interview with Iraqi media ‘Al-Sumaria’, Abolhadi Mohan Al-Saddavi referred to certain oppositions against US unilateral sanctions on Iran and called for exemption of the Iranian companies from sanctions.

Some Iranian companies that are currently active in services and civil fields in Dhi Qar Province have faced some problems caused by US sanctions, he said.

It will harm lives of over 600,000 people in Dhi Qar province, he added.

Al-Saddavi went on to say that Iran is implementing the first plan of waste water network in Nasiriyah.

Iran is also supplying 1,350 MW electricity for Iraq and the volume of gas exports for three gas plants in Iraq is 18 mcm per day.

US President Trump announced on May 8, 2018 the withdrawal from the JCPOA, which was condemned by other parties to the 2015 agreement and their emphasis to stay in the landmark international deal.
