Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili supported the Georgian opposition's demand for early elections in the country.

Axar.az reports that Saakashvili said this in an interview with Pirveli TV.

“I welcome the demands of the Georgian opposition. I will be actively involved in this process. It is necessary to save Georgia. I have so much hope that never happens. We must save Georgian statehood and independence, set aside our ambitions and support the Georgian people, "he said.

On his Facebook page, Saakashvili accused Bidzina Ivanishvili of cheating voters and political parties:

“As expected, Ivanishvili was cheating on everyone. This regime has no legitimacy, everything depends on us. The power is together, and we will have everything.

The Georgian Parliament voted on the constitutional amendment to the electoral legislation. A total of 101 of the 113 votes intended for the amendment in the ballot could be won. In particular, some members of the Georgian Dream Party refused to vote, and some voted against the bill.

Yesterday, the Georgian opposition began a rally in Tbilisi in front of the parliament building. Protesters set up tents in front of the parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue. There was a confrontation between police officers and protesters trying to open the road.

The protesters said they would not leave the area until the demands for early parliamentary elections were met.
