Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has received Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov.

Axar.az reports that the meeting is being held at the Orbeliani Palace of the President.

This concludes the high-level meetings of the Foreign Minister during his first official visit to Georgia.

"The timely completion of the process of delimitation of the Georgian-Azerbaijani border is of mutual strategic interest," said Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili.

The head of state expressed confidence that nothing and no one could hinder this process.

During the meeting, Bayramov said that Azerbaijan strongly supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Zurabishvili, in turn, expressed support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

According to the President, Georgia is ready to become a platform for promoting peace and stability in the region.

The sides also discussed the deepening of political, economic, trade and cultural ties between the two countries, emphasizing that Georgia and Azerbaijan are friendly countries and strategic partners.

Zurabishvili invited President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva to visit Georgia.
