Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Serjan Abdykarimov made an official appeal.
Axar.az reports that according to the embassy, the ambassador expressed serious concern over the escalation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, which threatens peace and stability in the region.
"Given its obligations under international humanitarian law, I consider it inhumane and inadmissible to fire on peaceful cities, their inhabitants and civilian objects," he said. In this connection, I strongly condemn the subsequent shelling of Ganja and the death of civilians, including innocent children.
I offer my deepest condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. "I reaffirm the need for a peaceful settlement of the conflict on the basis of the principles of international law and the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in accordance with the resolutions adopted by the UN Security Council within the framework of Kazakhstan's previous and unchanging position," the diplomat said.
