When I heard the news of the war, I did not think it would last 44 days. I thought that the confrontation would be a border conflict that would last for days or weeks without changing the status quo.

Axar.az reports that these words were said by Turkish military expert Hakan Kilic regarding the anniversary of the 44-day war.

The expert admitted that he did not expect Azerbaijan to make such progress and liberate Shusha:

"But a week after the start of the war, I saw how serious and ambitious official Baku was. Then I realized that Ilham Aliyev would go to the end and wage a planned war. However, I did not expect the Armenian side to surrender so soon", the expert said.
