President of Kazakhstan Gasim-Jomart Tokayev instructed the national oil and gas company to organize oil sales bypassing Russia.
Axar.az reports that this was reported on the website of the President of Kazakhstan.
It was reported that Tokayev considered oil supply diversification important:
"The priority direction is the "Trans-Caspian" route. I instruct "KazMunayGaz" (national oil and gas company - ed) to work out the best option for its implementation. There are opportunities to attract investors to the "Tengiz" project. The government should take measures to increase the transmission capacity of the Atırau-Kenkiyak and Kenkiyak-Kumkol oil pipelines together with Samruk-Kazyna.
It should be noted that the "Trans-Caspian" international transport route allows the sale of oil and other goods bypassing Russia. It starts from China, then Kazakhstan, passing through the Caspian Sea, and it goes to Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey.
