Allegations that Azerbaijan sold Russian natural gas to the West were a clear example of disinformation. Azerbaijan does not sell Russian gas to the West.

Axar.az reports that Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, said this at a panel dedicated to Azerbaijan within the framework of STRATCOM-2024 in Istanbul.

According to Hikmat Hajiyev, a lot of misinformation against Azerbaijan was recorded during the 44-day Patriotic War and anti-terrorist operation.

The assistant of the president noted that Azerbaijan fought disinformation using artificial intelligence.

Hikmat Hajiyev stressed that despite the end of the war, disinformation policy against Azerbaijan continues and Azerbaijan brings this issue to the attention of the other side during negotiations with Armenia.

The assistant of the president added that disinformation campaigns were also conducted in connection with the COP29 held in Baku.

Hikmet Hajiyev also pointed out that Turkiye and Azerbaijan cooperate in the field of artificial intelligence in a bilateral format and within the framework of TDT.
