Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, Dmitry Medvedev, expressed his condolences to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.

Axar.az reports that the letter states:

"Dear Ilham Heydar oglu.

I offer my deepest condolences on the death of citizens of Azerbaijan and Russia, as well as some other countries, as a result of the accident of the passenger plane belonging to "AZAL" near the city of Aktau. I wish the injured a speedy recovery.

I express my sympathy for the relatives of the deceased."
