The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to provide financial assistance to the Lebanese Republic.

Axar.az reports that, the decision was signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

The decision says that a powerful explosion on August 4, 2020 in Beirut, the capital of the Lebanese Republic, caused numerous casualties and large-scale destruction. In this regard, taking into account the need for humanitarian assistance from the Republic of Lebanon to eliminate the consequences of the tragedy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was allocated AZN 1,000,000 from the reserve fund envisaged in the 2020 state budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Ministry of Finance has been instructed to ensure the payment of the allocated funds in the prescribed manner.

The order comes into force from the date of signing.
