Soviet troops killed civilians in Baku.

Axar.az reports that the statement came from French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zakari Gross on Twitter.

"On this day in 1990, Soviet troops opened fire on a crowd in Baku. More than 130 peaceful protesters and bystanders were killed. "Less than two years later, Azerbaijan declared its independence," the ambassador said.
