This year, traditional work will also begin, that is, infrastructure projects, as well as the construction of residential buildings intended for internally displaced persons.

Axar.az reports that President Ilham Aliyev stated this on February 2 at the Youth Forum, answering questions from young people.

The president noted that five hydroelectric power plants will be built on the liberated lands this year. Noting that the construction of Agali village is already being completed, the president said that it is of great symbolic meaning:

“Because former IDPs will return to their native land this year, and the village of Agali is the embodiment of what we want.”

President Ilham Aliyev noted that Zangilan Airport will be opened this year, the railway will be brought to the Armenian border in 2023, and the construction of the highway is underway. Noting that young people are actively involved in all this, the head of state said: “Various agricultural projects are being implemented in the liberated areas. I can say that sowing is planned on 40,000-50,000 hectares this year. This will ensure our food security. Most of the people working there are young people. Therefore, young people, of course, will play a leading role in this work, they should also show their initiative.
