"Azerbaijan is doing everything right. This looks very positively in comparison to what is happening in Armenia and Georgia."
Axar.az reports that this was stated by Russian political scientist Pavel Klaichkov in an interview with "Moscow-Baku" while commenting on Baku's refusal to hold a meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian foreign ministers mediated by the U.S. Secretary of State.
"Azerbaijan has proven that it is a transparent, constructive partner of Russia, a reliable ally to rely on. We have many projects of strategic importance for both countries. Azerbaijan's policy is balanced, its actions are well-thought-out, all risks are calculated step by step, there is no hesitation in politics, and everything is built logically. For more than a year, Baku has been openly criticizing the U.S., not bowing to its 'master,' because unlike Armenia, Azerbaijan does not have a master. Azerbaijan conducts a sovereign policy," he said.
Klaichkov noted that Baku is already establishing relations with the new U.S. administration:
"Azerbaijan does not need difficulties in relations with anyone, but the Biden administration has put relations between Washington and Baku in a difficult situation. However, Baku strives for constructive relations with all global players, but not at the expense of its national interests. Baku's patience with the current U.S. policy has run out."
