Commander of the NATO Defense College Lieutenant General Max Nielsen and the staff of the "Higher course" headed by him visited ADA University and "Baku International Sea Trade Port" CJSC as part of the "Field Research Visit" to our country.

Axar.az was told by the Ministry of Defense that the event held at ADA University was opened by vice-rector, MP Fariz Ismayilzade.

Then Mr. Hikmat Hajiyev, the assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who was invited as the guest of honor, welcomed the guests and noted that he was happy to see them in our country. Mr. H. Hajiyev spoke on the topics of "Azerbaijan's foreign policy", "Regional Security and new challenges" and answered the questions of the guests.

At the event, the head of the American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Doctor of Philosophy in Political Sciences Esmira Jafarova gave a presentation on "Energy Strategy of Azerbaijan" and informed the guests about the regional and global economic projects in which our country participates.

The representative of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel Ramil Shukurov, spoke about the work done in the direction of building an army in our country, and also gave a presentation on the topics of "Azerbaijan-NATO cooperation" and "Defense strategy".

Questions addressed by the audience of NATO Defense College "Ali Kurs" were answered by the speakers.

The event was also attended by Milan Lajčak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Slovak Republic to our country, Edgars Skuya, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to our country, representatives of the Ministry of Defense and ADA University.

Later, the NATO delegation visited "Baku International Sea Trade Port" JSC.

At the meeting, the guests were given detailed information about the history, areas of activity, strategic importance, international relations and future development plans of Baku Port. The port's achievements in cargo transportation, logistics services, environmental protection and digital transformation were also discussed.

The guests who got acquainted with the modern infrastructure and facilities in the territory of the port expressed their satisfaction with the information they received about the development and future prospects of the port.
