Atletico Madrid have humiliated their city rivals Real Madrid 7-3 in the International Champions Cup in New Jersey.

Axar.az reports that both teams lined up with their main squads, but Atletico were the better side of the match and got on the scoresheet in the early moments when Diego Costa scored form inside the box.

The newly signed Portuguese striker Joao Felix doubled the lead for Atletico just 7 minutes later. Angel Correa scored the 3rd before Costa completed his hat-trick from the spot, making it 5-0 by halftime.

Atletico showed no mercy after the break as Costa scored his 4th before the hour mark.

Los Blancos pulled 1 back in the 60th minute, when Nacho tapped the ball home from close range. But Atletico were hungry for more and Vitolo scored the 7th in the 70th minute.

Karim Benzema and Xavier Hernandez scored 2 more goals for Real, and that was as far as they could go where Los Blancos went down 7-3 to Atletico.

Zinedine Zidane's side have finished their poor performance in pre-season matches, by conceding 12 goals in a total of 3 games so far this summer.
