Manchester City could be eliminated from the Champions League.

Axar.az informs that, the club's alleged financial violations of Fair Play rules, according to The Guardian.

It is alleged that the Manchester representative misrepresented the revenue generated by the 2014 sponsorship agreements. The club was fined £ 49 million for violating Fair Play rules at the time.

In particular, the owners of the club have made about 180 million euros, and according to the Fair Play rules they have lost about 45 million euros. Some of the sponsorship agreements have been signed with companies affiliated with Sheikh Mansur, the owner of the city. In addition, no reference to bank account receipts for 2012 or 2013 was provided.

One of the UEFA employees, who is in charge of the financial Fair Play rules, has resigned shortly after the deal with the English representative ended.

Although there have been reports of numerous sanctions against Manchester City last year, a final decision has not been made so far.

Manchester City will face Real Madrid in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.
