A part of a 5-storey residential building collapsed on 26 May Street in Batumi, Georgia.

Axar.az reports that this was reported by the Georgian media.

The area was reportedly cordoned off by police. Residents of the undamaged part of the building are being evacuated. 12 families lived in the destroyed part.

Rescuers rescued a 6-7-year-old boy from the wreckage. No other injuries were reported. The rescue operation continues.

According to the initial version, the wall was damaged during the repair work in one of the apartments. It was stated that several other illegal activities were carried out in that house.

Four people were rescued from the rubble of a collapsed building in Batumi.
