Erdogan backs the two-state solution for Cyprus

Turkiye sees the most realistic solution to the Cyprus problem in the creation of two states on the ethnically divided island. There is no point in holding talks that will not yield results.

Axar.az reports that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this.

Erdogan stressed the importance of everyone supporting the two-state policy.

"The settlement of the contradictions is possible only by taking into account the realities of Cyprus. Ankara's political and diplomatic efforts to ensure the rights and interests of the Cyprus Cypriot community in the international arena will continue. We must not forget the European Union's wrong decision to admit the island's Greek community to the EU," Erdogan noted.
