Turkish and Armenian ministers meet in Istanbul

Turkiye’s Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, met with Armenia’s Minister of Economy, Gevorg Papoyan, in Istanbul.

Axar.az informs that the information was reported by Armenian media.

Papoyan said that they emphasized the importance of regular contacts between Armenia and Turkiye and reaffirmed their readiness to continue the dialogue.

For his part, the Turkish minister praised Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s recent visit to Turkiye and stressed its positive impact on the development of bilateral relations.

It was noted that the meeting discussed the possible reopening of the Kars–Gyumri railway line, as well as new economic, logistical, and trade opportunities emerging for both countries through the TRIP program. The discussion also focused on market diversification, the formation of new logistic routes, and the expansion of mutual economic interests.

Cooperation in the field of agriculture was also addressed.

Armenia’s permanent representative to the BSEC, Nairi Petrosyan, also took part in the meeting.
