Putin stalling peace to gain ground in Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin is known for delaying difficult decisions for as long as possible. In particular, the longer the peace process drags on, the more Russian forces can advance on the frontline and damage Ukraine’s energy system.

Axar.az reports that “The Times” wrote about this.

The publication emphasized that the Russian president not only wants to see Ukrainian morale collapse with the arrival of winter and the loss of new territories, but is also trying to convince U.S. President Donald Trump that Kyiv’s efforts are hopeless.

In addition, from Putin’s perspective, persuading the United States to refuse aid to Ukraine and halt support altogether would be a good outcome.

“When speaking about his territorial demands, Putin states that Kyiv should give up 20% of the Donetsk region it still controls,” the report said.
