Istanbul will never become Constantinople and Turks will never leave this city, as told by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commenting on the recent terrorist attack in New Zealand mosques against Muslims and the manifesto of one of the terrorists who committed it.

Axar.az reports citing Turkish media.

According to Erdogan, it is apparent that there is still hatred of Islam and Muslims in some circles.

Erdogan stated earlier that the terrorist who had attacked Muslims in mosques in New Zealand had twice been to Turkey, and the purposes of his visits and who he met with are currently being specified.

Shootings took place at two mosques in the New Zealand city of Christchurch on March 15, with 50 killed and 20 seriously injured. Four suspects were detained.

The shooting at one of the mosques was carried out by an Australian citizen of ultra-right views – Brenton Tarrant, a native of Australia's Grafton. He streamed the attack online, and before the attack, published a 37-page manifesto, in which he called his actions a terrorist attack.
