Town evacuated after munitions depot blasts in Kazakhstan

The government ordered the evacuation of a town of 44,000 today after a series of blasts at a nearby munitions depot, Kazakhstan’s Defense Ministry said.

Axar.az reports citing Reuters.

The blasts, whose cause was unclear, occurred this morning at a military base near Arys in the Turkestan province.

According to local media, 10 people with injuries had arrived at a hospital in Shynment, Reuters reported.
