Official opening of the G7 summit was held in Biarritz, France.

Axar.az informs that, leaders of France, Germany, USA, Japan, Italy, Canada and Great Britain participated in a business dinner. The first official event of the summit was also attended by the head of the Council of Europe Donald Tusk.

Prior to the business dinner, French President Emmanuel Macron held meetings with US President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

In addition, a joint meeting of leaders of the G7 European countries was held. French President Emmanuel Macron said the summit will focus on resolving international crises, reducing tension in trade disputes, and setting fire to Amazon forests.

The main theme of the summit of leaders will be measures to combat various forms of discrimination and inequality.

The summit will end on August 26.
